Storyline

The campaign in Armed Assault takes place on the fictional Atlantic island of Sahrani, a nation which is divided into a northern communist regime (called the Democratic Republic of Sahrani - DRS) and an oil rich southern democracy called the Kingdom of South Sahrani. The narrative begins with United States forces, after a few months of training in the south, leaving the island. The northern leader uses this moment of weakness to attack the rest of the south. The player takes on the role of one soldier in one of the platoons not rotated off the island before the conflict began. The platoons aid the Royal Army Corps of Sahrani (RACS) in fending off the more powerful neighbour's offensive being spearheaded by the Sahrani Liberation Army (SLA).

The campaign follows a linear storyline. However, each level in the campaign has options for the player on how to progress through the mission. The player's in-game performance and choices determine how the storyline progresses and ultimately will have a bearing on the war itself. For example, a mission to seize a crucial town can have a substantial effect on the story depending on the player's level of success or failure. Failure to successfully complete an objective does not result in the game ending but will affect the storyline. Hostile squads act independently of the player's actions so that they may be engaging in an activity dictated by the game AI that does not necessarily involve the player. This implies that the game has high replay value as no two games will be identical.

ArmA's expansion pack, ArmA: Queen's Gambit, was released on September 28, 2007 and contained a followup to the original storyline and added a second event afterward.

The content of Operation Flashpoint: Elite is currently being converted to ArmA's format, and released a free addon, titled Cold War Rearmed.[5] This addon contain the original islands, models, and campaign.

Multiplayer
An ingame screenshot demonstrating the high draw distance, making long range engagements up to 10 kilometres possible.

The multiplayer aspect of the game features a "Join in Progress" option, so that players can play without waiting. The number of people allowed in a multiplayer game is limited only by the server's capability. NPCs are also available in multiplayer missions, both as allies and foes, while the mission editor allows users to script battle scenarios. A cooperative mode of gameplay is also included, allowing players online to complete the single player missions as a human player squad. The Armed Assault community also creates custom content such as new missions, campaigns, factions and weapons.

A new multiplayer mode that blends FPS and RTS elements was released as ArmA Warfare in the official update 1.14. ArmA Warfare contains team-based multiplayer missions with realtime strategy. Two sides fight for control of the entire map or destruction of the enemy base. Players must capture whole cities to gain resources that can be channeled into manufacturing even more weapons and units.

AGE OF EMPIRES

Age of Empires free full version pc games download

Gameplay

Age of Empires requires the player to develop a civilization from a handful of hunter-gatherers to an expansive Iron Age empire. To assure victory, the player must gather resources in order to pay for new units, buildings and more advanced technology. Resources must also be preserved, as no new resources become available as the game progresses, meaning, if you cut a tree down, the tree will not come back.

Twelve civilizations are available. Each with individual sets of attributes, including a varying number of available technologies and units. Each civilization has technologies unique to them, so that no civilization possesses all the technologies possible within the game. The civilizations are sorted into four distinct architectural styles, based on East Asian, Mesopotamian, Egyptian and Greek architecture, which determine their in-game appearance.

A major component of the game is the advancement through four ages. These are the Stone Age (Mesolithic/Paleolithic), the Tool Age (Neolithic/Chalcolithic), the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. Advancement between ages is researched at the Town Center, and each advancement brings the player new technologies, weapons, and units.

Modes
A custom scenario: Champa invaders attack the Khmer Empire, which attempts to construct the legendary Angkor Wat.

The game features four single-player campaigns in which the player is required to complete specific objectives. Campaigns are a collection of scenarios which are completed in a linear fashion. The campaigns follow the history of the Egyptian, Greek, Babylonian and Yamato civilizations. Aside from the campaigns, there is a game mode called "random map", in which a different map is generated for each new game. Variations of random map, such as the resource-heavy "death match", are also available.

Age of Empires also facilitated online and network play with up to 8 people simultaneously. Because the network play is less sophisticated than that of modern games, lag and disconnections often occur. Until 19 June 2006, multiplayer gameplay was supported by Microsoft Gaming Zone. At that point, the Zone abandoned support of most CD-ROM games, including Age of Empires and Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings.

The creation of user-made scenarios or series of scenarios (campaigns) for the game was made possible using the Scenario Builder. This tool is simpler and easier to learn than comparable editors used in more modern games, but it has fewer capabilities as a result. Ensemble Studios used the Scenario Builder to make the single-player campaigns which shipped with the retail game. Various unofficial sites exist where custom scenarios can be submitted and downloaded. In late 2005, it was discovered that by modifying various data files, units present in the beta versions of the game could be made available in the editor. Some obscure units include a spaceship and a hero that changes ownership when units move near it. Through data editing, the rules of unit placement can also be modified. This allows units to be placed on any terrain and on top of other units, which creates new possibilities for design. Other significant discoveries include new terrain templates, a mode to treble each unit's hitpoints, and a tool to edit map sizes.

Technology

Technology is researched at specific buildings, to which they are generally related; for example, religious research is done in temples and improved armor is researched in the storage pit. Technological advances come in many categories, such as military upgrades (better arms and armor for units), economic upgrades (increasing the efficiency of resource gathering), religious upgrades (faster conversion rates and more abilities for priests) and infrastructure upgrades (stronger fortifications and more resilient buildings). As basic technology research is completed, more advanced technologies may become available. Some technologies are not available to certain civilizations.

Technology plays a very important role in the strategy of the game. As a civilization progresses through the ages, technology becomes more and more expensive, which makes collecting the necessary resources to research them difficult. As a consequence, balancing the workforce of villagers across the various resources can make the difference between victory and defeat.

Units

Players control a variety of civilian and military units. Most units can be upgraded through research (e.g. faster gathering for villagers, stronger armor for military units, and longer range for archers).

Land-based units are the most prevalent in gameplay. Villagers are the most basic units in Age of Empires. Their primary function is to collect resources; cutting down trees for wood, mining for stone and gold, and hunting, foraging, farming, or fishing to acquire food. Villagers can also construct buildings and repair both buildings and naval vessels, and are capable of engaging in hand-to-hand combat when necessary. Priests are non-combat units which can heal allied units or "convert" enemy units (in which case the target unit changes allegiance). Infantry units, such as clubmen, swordsmen, and hoplites use melee combat to attack at short range. Mounted units include chariots, cavalry, and war elephants. Archers, mounted or on foot, attack at range. Siege units are of two types: catapults and ballista. Catapults hurl stones which generate blast damage, affecting all units in a small area, and are especially effective against buildings and groups of units. The ballista is less damaging against buildings and units, but it fires faster and is cheaper than the catapult.

Nautical units often play a secondary role, but can be essential to victory. Fishing boats are similar to villagers in that they can gather fish. Merchant ships trade resources from the stockpile and exchange it for gold at another player's dock, with the amount of gold earned being relative to the distance between both docks. Transport ships carry land units from one area of land to another. As well as attacking enemy ships, warships can be very effective in attacking land-based units close to the shoreline (because melee units cannot fight back). Warships come either as galleys which fire arrows or triremes which launch bolts or boulders (very effective against buildings near the shoreline).

Unit types are identical, regardless of civilization (though certain civilizations may have improved variations of these units). So, for example, a Korean Choson broad swordsman is identical to a Persian or Phoenician one, as are bowmen, axemen, short swordsmen, cavalry, and so forth. Some armors and clothes are historically inaccurate, with the long swordsman bearing more resemblance to a Roman praetorian, and phalanx soldiers having a very heavy armor with a large tower shield that never were given to any ancient soldier.[original research?] Some units were also available in the game to civilizations that never, historically, had them; hoplites can be trained by every civilization except Persia, and some middle-Asian civilizations can train legions and centurions, while Japanese Yamato can build triremes.

Buildings
An Iron Age settlement has just been under attack.

The Town Center is one of the most important buildings in the game. Here villagers are created, and age advancement is researched. Most scenarios have each player begin with a single Town Center; the ability to build multiple Town Centers is unlocked by the construction of the Government Center during the Bronze Age. The Town Center provides population support for four units. In order to build more units, houses must be constructed. Each house supports four units, and although any number of houses can be built (a concept which was not maintained in later games like Age of Mythology), they can only support a maximum of fifty units.

Military units are produced at specific buildings relevant to their area. All sea units are created at the docks. Walls and towers are defensive fortifications (Age of Empires was one of the first real-time strategy games to include walls strong enough to form a feasible means of defense). Farms are used to produce food. Granaries, storage pits, and the Town Center are used to store resources deposited by the villagers.
The four different wonders for each of the four architectural styles.

Wonders are enormous monuments representing the architectural achievements of the time, such as the Egyptian Pyramids. They require huge amounts of resources to build and are constructed very slowly. Wonders can neither produce units nor conduct research. In scenarios with Standard Victory conditions, a player can win by constructing a wonder and keeping it from being destroyed for 2,000 years. Building a wonder also greatly increases a player's score, which is beneficial in "score" games. Players typically make it their top priority to destroy enemy wonders, especially under Standard Victory conditions. For this reason and because a wonder is relatively easy to destroy, a wonder must be well-guarded at all times.

AREA 51

AREA 51 free full version pc games download

Gameplay

Gameplay involves combat in a first person view, through the eyes of Ethan Cole. Players may either be required to move to a certain location in order to complete objectives, or at later stages, operate a stationary turret against oncoming enemies. The Player will have a team of Hazmat soldiers through the starting levels and will meet security forces on most of the floors that will not follow the player, but will just hold their position. The player's Hazmat soldiers are in fact invincible and cannot be killed unless the story demands it.

Combat

Throughout the game, players may use various weapons in order to defeat increasingly larger amounts of enemies. These weapons can be fired using one or both hands for increased firepower. Each weapon, can be used either as a melee aid, or for its intended purpose. Some weapons can also be dual wielded to increase firepower for the player.

In all cases, every weapon has two modes of firing, the first being a regular mode, while the second is a much more powerful mode of firing, (at the cost of accuracy, ammo etc.). Players may also use grenades in combat, one of a human make, and one of an alien design.

At a later stage in the game, once the player is infected, the option to turn into a mutant temporarily is obtained. Mutating offers a variety of benefits, such as increased strength, stamina, as well as the initial ability to fire health-replenishing parasites as well as the later ability to contaminate enemies, both at the cost of mutation time reduction. While in a mutant form, players can easily spot enemies, which would otherwise be cloaked to the regular human eye, albeit with a slight ocular defect.

Players can replenish health and mutagen either through the use of medical syringes found throughout the game or by using parasites, and mutagen by melee combat or "using" infected corpses and finding mutagen syringes.

Other aspects

A notable aspect of gameplay is the ability to scan and analyze various objects and environments. This is possible by using the scanner present on the player's suit, worn throughout the game. While using a scanner, the player has no access to weapons, apart from melee, and must switch to an available weapon in order to fight. Scanning provides detailed information on a player's surroundings, as well as combated enemies.

The scanner, when equipped, adds a translucent bar to the player's HUD, which changes in color and height from light blue, to deep red. This bar indicates how near or far a player is, to a scannable clue, red when the player is very close, and blue when very far. Items which are scanned are viewable in-game, providing insight into the workings of Area 51, as well as proving necessary to unlocking secret videos made by Dr. Cray or Mr. White.

Characters

The player controls Ethan Cole, a member of Hazmat Team Bravo. Other members of the team include Mitch "Crispy" Chrisman, Jack McCan, and Anthony Ramirez, the team leader. All but Ethan are killed by Thetas and mutants. Prior to Team Bravo entering Area 51, Hazmat Team Delta was sent in; they were mostly wiped out by a Theta, though a few survivors are seen later in the game fighting alongside Ethan.

The leader of research in Area 51 is Dr. Winston Cray. He was able to create a mutagen from the blood of an alien grey dubbed Edgar, who crash-landed in Roswell in 1947. He released a Theta in the base to prevent its use by the Illuminati, a shadow organization that holds influence over several world leaders, and who made the original pact with the aliens in Area 51.

Plot

An unknown virus has been released inside Area 51, and HazMat Team Bravo has been assigned to clean it up. Once inside, the team discovers that the virus turns people into murderous mutants, and anyone killed by a mutant turns into a mutant themselves.

As the game progresses, members of Team Bravo are killed one by one by mutants, until only Ethan Cole, the player character, is left alive. Ethan is later bitten by a mutant, slowly turning him into a mutant. Later he finds Dr. Cray, who promises to cure him using a machine that can remove the virus. Before the process is complete, the machine loses power as Dr. Cray's laboratory is invaded. Ethan then gains the ability to switch between being a mutant and a human. Eventually Ethan makes his way through the complex until he finds a Grey, called "Edgar" several miles below the surface. Edgar tells Ethan about the history of the Greys and Area 51 and gives Ethan a cure to the virus in the form of Edgar's blood before he sends Ethan to destroy the alien ship preparing to leave with the virus. Ethan destroys the ship in an effort to stop production of the virus. Ethan then proceeds to destroy the alien's powercore in their facility, causing a massive explosion. He narrowly escapes by jumping through a portal that sends him back to the surface of Earth, only a short distance away from Area 51. Ethan watches as the base is destroyed in several tornado-like explosions, he then sees the same truck that he helped protect at the start of the game driving away, loaded with an unknown containment canister. The game ends with Ethan walking away from the base.

AGE OF MYTHOLOGY

Age of Mythology free full version pc games download

Like many other real-time strategy games, Age of Mythology is based on building towns, gathering resources, creating armies, and ultimately destroying enemy units and buildings. In this way, players are able to defeat and conquer rival towns and civilizations. Players advance their tribe through four "Ages": starting in the Archaic Age, the player may upgrade to the Classical Age, the Heroic Age, and, finally, the Mythic Age. Each upgrade to a higher Age unlocks new units and technologies for the player, which strengthens their settlement. However, upgrading requires a sum of resources to be paid, and certain buildings to be built. In this screenshot, an Egyptian town under attack by the Norse, defending itself using the meteor god power.

There are three playable civilizations in Age of Mythology: the Greeks, Egyptians, and Norse. Each civilization has three "major gods"—deities; they are: Zeus, Hades and Poseidon for the Greeks; Isis, Ra and Set for the Egyptians; and Thor, Odin and Loki for the Norse. The player chooses their major god before the game begins. Every time a player advances to the next age, one of two "minor gods" must be picked. Minor gods are slightly less significant historically than their major counterparts. Some minor gods include Bast, Aphrodite, Athena, Horus, Njord, and Artemis. All gods grant to the player unique technologies, myth units, and a unique god power—a special ability which can either benefit the user or damage his/her opponent.

There are four major resources in Age of Mythology: food, wood, gold and favor; unlike previous games by Ensemble Studios, this game does not include the stone resource. Resources can be used to train units, construct buildings, and research technologies, among other things. Civilian units—namely, the Greek villagers, Norse gatherers and dwarves, the Egyptian laborers, and fishing boats—are used to gather resources. Hunting animals, gathering berries, harvesting livestock, farming, and fishing are all methods by which food can be gathered. Wood is gathered only by chopping down trees, and gold is gathered from either gold mines or from trade. Each civilization can purchase upgrades that increase the rate of gathering these resources. Favor is acquired in different ways by different civilizations: Greek players gain it by having villagers pray at temples; Egyptian players earn it by building monuments which generate it; and Norse players receive it by fighting or by possessing heroes. Resources can be exchanged at a player's market.

Units

The bulk of each civilization's army is made of human soldiers. Each player has a maximum "population", although the player does not start with the ability to use this entire "population". Building additional houses or Town Centers—the main building in a player's town—increases the population capacity. Each unit takes up a different number of population slots: civilians take one, whilst some myth units can take up to five.[13] Most units can be upgraded, making them better at certain tasks.

Units can be classified into seven categories; infantry, archers, cavalry—these three of which are broadly classified as human units—siege weaponry, naval units, heroes, and myth units. The rock-paper-scissors model governs most units in battle. For example, infantry do additional damage to cavalry, cavalry do additional damage to archers, and archers do additional damage to infantry. However, at the same time, each of the types of unit has an "anti unit" - that is, instead of a normal unit, for instance an infantryman, having an attack bonus vs cavalry, no bonus or weakness vs other infantry, and weakness vs archers, the anti unit will have an attack bonus vs the same type of unit that it is. Otherwise it is the same - the same weaknesses, and no bonus or weakness from the other unit. The same rock-paper-scissors formation exists in the three different types of naval units—arrow ships, siege ships, and hammer ships. Siege units are generally exempt from the rock-paper-scissors model, but are instead able to destroy buildings easily, while being vulnerable to cavalry attacks. Heroes are extremely effective against myth units, which in turn do large amounts of damage against human units. Heroes are also able to collect relics, which grant the player additional economic or military bonuses when deposited in a player’s temple. While heroes are generally more powerful than human units, they are not generally as cost effective as using myth units or other human units against them.

Buildings

Buildings in Age of Mythology can generally be split into three categories: economic buildings, military buildings, and defensive structures. The most important economic building is the Town Center, which is similar to the building of the same name in the Age of Empires series of games. All civilian units are trained at the Town Center, apart from fishing ships, as are some technologies. Most importantly, players advance Age via the building. The Town Center provides fifteen population slots, and building additional houses will earn the player ten additional slots per house. Other economic buildings include the farm and market.

Buildings are able to research technology upgrades, as well as provide resources for the player. All units except civilians are trained at military buildings. These buildings differ in name and usage between civilization, but all are able to train similar units. Military buildings are also used to research military specific technologies, such as armor upgrades, and attack improvements.

Walls and towers are defensive structures, which are not able to train units, and are used only for the purposes of defense. They are able to research some upgrades, although these are generally only useful to the building performing the research. Another type of building available to players, is a Wonder: a grand building that represents an architectural achievement of the civilization. In certain game modes, once a player builds a wonder, a ten minute countdown begins. If the wonder is still standing after the countdown ends, the player who built the wonder wins.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is an aspect of Age of Mythology, played through Ensemble Studios Online, or via a direct LAN or IP connection. Age of Mythology includes one free multiplayer account on ESO. Similar in function to Blizzard Entertainment's Battle.net, ESO allows players to play matches, as well as chat with other players. In multiplayer games, there are seven different game types available, all of which are provided as standard with the game: "Supremacy"—the standard game mode—includes randomly generated map and all gameplay aspects; "Conquest" is similar to Supremacy, but victory is only possible by defeating all other players; in "Deathmatch", players begin the game with high resources, but the game is otherwise the same as Supremacy; in "Lightning", the gameplay is identical to Supremacy, but the game plays at twice the normal speed; in "Nomad" mode, players start with one civilian unit, and no Town Center, and must build up on a settlement; the goal of "King of the Hill" is to control a monument in the center of the map for a set period of time; and in "Sudden Death", a player loses if their Town Center is destroyed, and they fail to rebuild it within a set period of time. Multiplayer tournaments and LAN parties are popular throughout the world, with many players visiting computer gaming lounges to participate.

AGE OF EMPIRES II

Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings free full version pc games download

The Age of Kings focuses on building towns, gathering resources, creating armies, and destroying enemy units and buildings. Players conquer rival towns and empires as they advance their own civilization through four "Ages": the Dark Age, the Feudal Age, the Castle Age (The Middle Age), and the Imperial Age, reminiscent of the Renaissance—a 1000 year timeframe. Progressing to a new Age unlocks new units, structures and technologies, but players must pay a sum of resources and construct certain buildings before advancing.

Players choose to play as one of 13 civilizations split into four architectural styles, West European, Central European, Middle Eastern, and Far Eastern, that determine building appearance in-game. The civilizations have varying strengths and weaknesses with regards to economics, technology, and battle, and each has access to a different, very powerful "Unique Unit". To add variety, each civilization has a set of soundbites in its native language that are uttered by units when selected and instructed to perform a task.

Civilian units, called "villagers", are used to gather resources. These resources can be used to train units, construct buildings, and research technologies, among other things. The game offers four types of resources: food, wood, gold, and stone. Food is obtained by hunting animals, gathering berries, harvesting livestock, farming, and fishing. Wood is gathered by chopping down trees, gold is obtained from either gold mines, trade or having a relic in a monastery, and stone is collected from stone mines. Villagers require checkpoints, typically depository buildings, where they can store gathered resources. Each civilization can purchase upgrades that increase the rate of gathering these resources. Players who construct a special building, the market, may acquire or sell resources for gold. Market prices fluctuate with every transaction.

There are five campaigns in The Age of Kings, containing historically-based scenarios such as Genghis Khan's invasion of Eurasia, Barbarossa's Crusade, or Saladin's defence of the Holy Land. In the Joan of Arc and William Wallace campaigns, the player can control a unit based on its namesake; in others, players take orders from guiding spirits representative of the army's commander.

Additional game modes are available to the player in The Age of Kings. One mode, random map, generates a plain map, with players starting in the Dark Age with a Town Center, three villagers, and a scout unit. The game can be won through military conquest, by constructing a special building known as a Wonder and keeping it standing for a certain amount of time, or by obtaining control of all relics on the map for a set amount of time. Deathmatch mode allows players to begin with large amounts of resources, creating a focus on military dominance, while in the regicide mode each player is given a king unit, winning by killing all of the other monarchs.

Civilizations

Within a single game, the player can choose to represent one of these civilizations: Briton, Byzantine, Celtic, Chinese, Franks, Gothic, Japanese, Mongol, Persian, Saracen, Teutons, Turks, or Viking. These civilizations are divided into four types, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asian and Middle Eastern.

Units
A Celtic player in the Feudal Age. Their Town Center is visible and has several farms surrounding it; villagers of both genders work there and elsewhere to gather resources. A scout on horseback is also at the ready. Military buildings such as the barracks, archery range, and stable are visible, as well as economic buildings — the market and mill. The south east corner of the screenshot shows the player's walls and a gate.

Every player has a limit to the number of units they can create—a population limit—but may not immediately use the entire potential population. The population capacity, which can be capped at anywhere between 75 - 200, is based on the number of houses, Castles, or Town Centers—the main building in a player's town—which have been built. The Age of Kings introduced two significant new features for unit management: the idle villager button, which helps players identify villagers that have not been assigned a task (this could be done in Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome expansion by pressing the period key after patch 1.0a), and the town bell, which sends all a player's villagers into their Town Center, Castle or tower for safety.
The Age of Kings also includes five types of military units: infantry, archers, cavalry, siege weaponry, and naval units. Certain types of infantry, archers, and cavalry are "counter units" with special defenses against other types of unit. The three human classes of military generally follow a rock-paper-scissors model. For example, infantry are generally powerful against buildings but weak against cavalry, thus, the infantry counter units—spearmen and pikemen—have attack bonuses against cavalry. The monk is a special kind of military unit that has the ability to convert enemy units to the player's civilization, and to heal allied units. Monks are also used to collect relics; relics give a player accumulative gold, the more relics he has captured, the faster the gold is put into the player's stockpile. Collecting all five relics on the map is one method by which a player can win a random map game, depending on the victory setting.

Buildings

Buildings in The Age of Kings are either economic, military or defensive in nature. Buildings can research technologies and upgrades that increase economic, military or unit-based efficiency, as well as provide resources for the player. The most important economic building is the Town Center, where villagers are created, all types of resources can be stored, some technologies are researched, and the player can advance to the next Age. The Town Center can fire arrows at enemy units within range if villagers or archers are garrisoned while under attack. Other economical buildings available include storage buildings for resources, farms and houses to support a higher population.

Military units are created at military buildings, such as barracks, archery ranges, stables, and docks (the dock may also produce several non-combat units). Military buildings can perform research to improve the abilities of military units, increasing their strength, defensive capabilities, or other attributes. The castle is a military building which can train a wide variety of units, including the civilization's 'Unique Unit', and fires arrows at enemy units within range, with garrisoned units firing extra arrows. It can only be built after a player has reached the Castle Age.

There are two main defensive buildings, the wall and the tower. The two types of walls, stone walls and the weaker palisades, are used to prevent access to an enclosed area whilst providing a solid line of defense. Gates can be installed in walls to allow allied units to access a defended area. Towers are equipped with the ability to fire arrows at unfriendly units, and can be used in conjunction with the wall in defense mechanisms.

Multiplayer

The Age of Kings supports multiplayer over the Internet, or via a local area network (LAN). Up to eight players can take part in one game, with all of the single player game modes available. The MSN Gaming Zone supported the game until the service closed on June 19, 2006. Alternative services, such as GameSpy Arcade, were recommended as a replacement. Currently Macintosh versions of the games seem to only be supported by the GameRanger client.

ALPHA PRIME

Alpha Prime free full version rpg pc games download

Gameplay

The game has a total of 10 missions or levels, 5 NPCs, and around 14 enemies. The mechanics that were originally engineered into the game allow for an interactive environment, hacking system and a "bullet time" system.

Story

The State Business Federation has discovered an asteroid dubbed Alpha Prime with rich deposits of hubbardium, which is used as fuel in interstellar ships. During the mining operations, the miners began to go mad due to exposure to hubbardium. The State Business Federation decides that mining the hubbardium is too dangerous, and seal off the asteroid.

Unauthorized miners arrive hoping to use the hubbardium to make drugs. They soon find themselves in trouble and ask Arnold, the protagonist, to help them.

Somewhere deep in space, hidden in the infinity of the Universe, there is a treasure trove just waiting to be opened by the eager hands of a daring explorer. A mere asteroid, a piece of rock, a speck of dust lost in the boundless void, yet priceless to humanity. For under its frozen crust there are rich veins of the most precious substance known to man – hubbardium. This “liquid metal” is a key ingredient in the fuel of interstellar ships, thus enabling mankind to spread across the Universe from its base on Earth. Its importance is the reason why it is monopolized by the State Business Federation, a huge multinational corporation which is given control over every single step in production of hubbardium, from exploration to distribution.

And so, when this asteroid, subsequently named Alpha Prime, and its fabulous riches were discovered, the Corporation quickly came, and a huge, sprawling base was promptly built on its surface as the giant mining machines begun its work.

But all was not well on Alpha Prime. While its hubbardium veins might be plentiful, some of them were also dangerous. They slowly intoxicated the minds of human workers, and damaged the positron brains of the artificial ones, including the central computer. Conditions on the base became highly unstable and the Corporation finally decided to seal off the entire facility and leave. Only the most basic maintenance and security, including weapons systems, were left turned on. To prevent the base falling into ruin....and to prevent illegal prospectors from entering and resuming the mining operation.

But they came anyway. The lure of the unimaginable wealth of Alpha Prime was too strong. Moreover, some of these illegal visitors were naturally quite resistant to the effects of “bad” hubbardium. So they arrived, they circumvented security protocols and partially resumed mining. Their use of hubbardium was rather different, though. They didn’t want to produce fuel; they came to make hubbardium into a powerful drug, worth its weight in gold on the black market. If the operation went successfully, they would become multimillionaires. But they miscalculated. Alpha Prime hubbardium was apparently too strong and started to exert influence even over the hardened minds of the miners. There was something very, very weird about this asteroid. It didn’t take long before they started to become desperate and called for help. One of those on the team, Warren, called his old friend, Arnold, a seasoned, hubbardium resistant explorer, and asked him to come and help them out of their dire condition.

And even though YOU, Arnold, already quit some time ago, you were finally persuaded, less by the obvious desperation on Warren’s face than by appeals to consider your tight financial situation by Livia, your girlfriend.

So now it’s time to board your ship and head towards the unknown...

Strong story, fast paced shooting action. However, if you cannot shoot, then there is your RECON, hacking device enabling you to remotely control various devices you meet on your way through the dark halls and corridors of Alpha Prime. If that’s not enough, you can drug your mind and sharpen your senses by injecting a small dose of hubbardium. And all the time you will be surrounded by physical world in a very literal sense, because almost everything that moves, moves thanks to advanced real-time physics algorithms.

* Hacking – need to know who or what is hiding around the corner or behind the door? Use the camera and everything will be revealed at once!
* Remote control – make use of the environment and clear your way without having to actually fight!
* Machines – have you something heavy to move somewhere else, remove an obstacle from your path? Do you want to get to some otherwise unreachable location? No problem. Just use this Loader.
* Bullet time – time seems to fly too quickly to your liking? A small dose of hubbardium will fix it. For a time...
* Car – nothing like a little ride under the starlit sky! Jump in and enjoy the otherworldly vistas of Alpha Prime!
* Compatible with Matrox TripleHead2Go™, enabling gamers to connect 3 screens with a maximum resolution of up to 3840x1024*.

AQUARIA

Aquaria free full version rpg pc games download

In Aquaria, the player controls Naija, a lone underwater dweller, who is in search of her family. She explores a massive ocean world, teeming with life and filled with ancient secrets. In her journey she encounters various underwater creatures, travels from hidden caves to sunlit oases, and solves mysterious quests in underwater ruins and long forgotten cities of ancient civilizations.

It is an action adventure game, heavily focused on exploration and puzzle-solving, with non-linear gameplay. There are many lifeforms with which Naija can interact. Some of them are hostile, while others are friendly, and some pay no notice to her. Interaction is accomplished by singing songs, which have various effects on Naija (shield, transformation into another form, etc.) and her surroundings (lifting heavy objects, opening plants, cracking eggs, etc.). It is also possible for Naija to obtain offensive powers to protect herself from some of the more hostile creatures in the game, and key battles against certain ancient foes are essential to progressing the storyline.

Gameplay

The game begins initially at a sedate pace with much emphasis on exploration, but as Naija's repertoire of abilities slowly increases the player's options branch out greatly, so they may concentrate more on exploration and accumulation of needed ingredients, or more on aggression and the defeating of foes, or a mix of the two. Many areas of the game open up after the initial tutorial phase and the player is free to explore the world as they wish, with minor restrictions based upon the current range of abilities or the presence of the previously-mentioned ancient foes.

Forms

In the course of the game, Naija learns songs that allow her to transform into different forms. Each of the forms provides her with unique abilities critical to overcoming the various challenges and obstacles seen in the game. Some of the basic forms she discovers early in the game are:
Normal form

Normal form: This is her default appearance. Only in this form is it possible to sing and wear costumes.

Energy form

Energy form: The basic offensive form. It allows Naija to shoot projectiles to attack enemy creatures.

Beast form: This allows Naija to swim faster through currents and eat fish. Eating fish increases Naija's health.
Sun form: This is a defenseless form, but it is useful for navigating dark passages because it gives off light.
Nature form: Naija can shoot seeds and produce flowers and spiky plants that can harm other creatures. In nature form, Naija is not harmed by thorns on any plants.
Spirit form: In this form, time stops completely, and Naija can move around as a blue orb. When her orb travels to a blue crystal, Naija will be transported to that spot. Spirit form is useful for navigating through obstacles that would be impossible to go through otherwise. Spirit form can also neutralize enemy projectiles and provide a small health boost.
Fish form: Naija turns into a fish and can swim much faster, evading some enemies. Fish form also allows Naija to navigate through small passageways.
Dual form: In this form, Naija and Li are merged into one. By killing enemies in the Li form, the Naija form is powered up and can be used to kill all smaller creatures in the surrounding area and significantly damage larger ones.

With every new song she learns as she uncovers the history of various parts of Aquaria, Naija finds out that she is capable of transforming into many even more exotic forms. Some are more powerful in combat, while others are practically defenseless but provide her with some unique powers. There are also some that seem to be practically useless at first, but as she gains more experience, she learns to exploit every one of them. With these new abilities, Naija can visit previously-inaccessible areas and progress through the game. Each of the forms has a short story about each region of Aquaria behind it, retelling some era of its history or little stories about different inhabitants and their lives. With each of these stories, Naija learns more about world around her and slowly discovers what role she plays in this vast world.

Cooking

While exploring the world, Naija can collect various ingredients from interaction with plants, animals and mainly by combating her foes. These ingredients can be used to cook dishes. Each dish has various effects when eaten. Most common effects are healing, enhancing various characteristics (such as speed, defense, etc), but there are some more exotic ones which grant her new abilities.

Naija can learn new recipes by collecting new dishes, or by combining ingredients randomly (which can lead to creating nearly-useless sea loaf, wasting used ingredients in the process). Most of the dishes can be cooked only from two ingredients, which can be done anywhere, but some more complicated ones need to be cooked in a kitchen, which allows Naija to combine three ingredients.

Plot

Naija, who has lost almost all her memories in the beginning of the game, is able to recall some of them by entering secret locations, which unfold history of Aquaria and retell her story. In addition to the main storyline, a reward system motivates player to further explore the world, searching for side quests and secret areas. These rewards include various costumes (some of which provide new or upgraded abilities), objects and plants used for decorating her home cave (and sometimes providing an additional source of ingredients), maximum health upgrades, pets to help Naija in fights, new recipes and many beautiful landmarks.
